By George Orwell
Like The Giver, this is one that many other people covered during their schooling, but somehow I missed it. I’m familiar with references to it, and I was aware that “some animals are more equal than others” but I finally consumed the book. It was a quick listen on audio book that only needed one cardio session and the following breakfast. Napoleon’s re-writing of history felt very Trumpy. I hope our population is better at holding onto the truth than the animals. Literacy will help, if that’s still a thing. I don’t have much else to say about this one. I enjoyed it. It’s one more common reference that I won’t be out of the loop on. Benjamin the donkey reminded me of Eeyore, so I wondered if Eeyore was inspired by Benjamin, but searching for that didn’t find any direct link other than general agreement about the similarity.
